Neuro Care in Community Recognized with National Award SHAWANO, WI—(May 5, 2006). Neurologist Dr. Thomas Mattio, a member of the Neuroscience Group of Northeast Wisconsin, is providing a community update on Parkinson’s Disease for the American Parkinson Disease Association at the United Methodist Church in Shawano on Mary 5th at 3:00 pm. Parkinson's Disease demonstrates with a variety of signs and symptoms. A diagnosis of Parkinson's disease (PD) is made when a person shows at least two of the primary symptoms of the disease which include rigidity, tremor, slow movement (bradykinesia), or loss of movement (akinesia), and difficulties with balance and walking. The Neuroscience Group of NE Wisconsin provides a wide spectrum of neurological and neurosurgical services throughout NE Wisconsin. These services include care for patients with serious health care concerns like epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, headaches, multiple sclerosis, peripheral nerve diseases as well as surgical procedures for spine, brain and peripheral nervous system disorders.
