Neuroscience Group Receptionists Start Lending Library for Patients NEENAH, WI—(January 16, 2006). Sensing a need to go beyond the traditional physician office waiting room repertoire of magazines, Neuroscience Group patient service representatives Jacque Bootz, Kara Malin and Patti Flack decided to initiate a "Lending Library" for patients and their families. They solicited help from vendors, wrote grant requests and began a search for literature that would benefit people with neurological and neurosurgical health concerns. Aided by the nursing staff, physicians and nurse practitioners, the patient services trio has been busy collecting books on topics such as epilepsy, Parkinson's Disease, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, etc. The books are available to patients and their families to borrow, read at home and return to the "Lending Library" area for others to use. Dr. Steven Price commented, "The Neuroscience Group of NE Wisconsin is recognized as a leader in neurological and neurosurgical care in Northeast Wisconsin. Our staff understands the important role that patient education has in helping our patients cope with serious neurological health concerns. We applaud this initiative." The Neuroscience Group of NE Wisconsin provides a wide spectrum of neurological and neurosurgical services throughout NE Wisconsin. These services include care for patients with serious health care concerns like epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, headaches, multiple sclerosis, peripheral nerve diseases as well as surgical procedures for spine, brain and peripheral nervous system disorders.
